Programs for Students & Community Youth Groups
The Branch Solution is committed to helping our youngest citizens be responsible productive members of society by
understanding and respecting our unique differences. The following programs have been developed to help children
ages 9-18 maximize human relations in their schools and communities.
Bully-Free School Program
Bullying continues to be a major problem in schools and it often contributes to children who ae bullied
dropping out or developing a negative association with the school environment. Our Bully-Free School Program helps
students take action against bullying and contribute to a safe productive school environment. Benefits to students include:
- Identify and understand the various forms of bullying
- Understand the harmful effects of cyber-bullying
- Learn how to effectively manage emotions including aggression
- Learn how to report instances of bullying at school and at home
- Learn to contribute to a safe environment in school and in the community
Get to Know MeTM Diversity Awareness Program
This interactive program uses the Know MeTM game format to help students from different groups
(whether defined by culture, race, gender, status, sexual orientation or any other criteria)
explore issues of diversity together. Benefits to students include:
- Appreciation for the diversity of themselves and others
- Develop respectful communication skills
- Respect different ideas and viewpoints
- Build collaboration and cooperation in school and in the community
Student Peer Mediation Program
Peer mediation is a complementary alternative dispute resolution process to regular disciplinary procedures in the school
environment. It empowers students to be proactive in resolving conflicts and contributing to positive relationships.
The Branch Solution helps students and faculty develop and implement peer mediation programs in their schools. Peer
mediators will learn the basics of conflict resolution such as:
- What is conflict
- The causes of conflict
- The basics of the peer mediation process
- When peer mediation will work and when it will not
- How to effectively negotiate conflict resolution agreements
- How to become advocates for constructive peer-to-peer relationships
